DCProof Age Report¶
The Age Report is a review web app: it turns the age-rating of a spot or trailer from a full screening into a focused, minutes-long review.
The DCProof engine watches the whole file and marks the timecoded moments of interest — the scenes that could influence a rating. The reviewer then works in the app: jump straight from moment to moment, see each excerpt with the criterion it touches (violence, fear, language, sexuality, substances), assess it against the target market's standard, and record the decision — or escalate it.
Built for how rating actually works¶
A review targets one rating system: the one of the market where the content will run. Every national system weighs the criteria differently, so the app presents the moments of interest in the vocabulary of that system — FSK thinks in developmental harm, Kijkwijzer in coded categories, Mediemyndigheten in psychological harm.
Supported rating systems¶
DCProof currently supports 16 national systems, including:
- 🇩🇪 FSK (Germany)
- 🇬🇧 BBFC (United Kingdom)
- 🇳🇱 Kijkwijzer (Netherlands)
- 🇧🇪 GoedGezien / BienVu (Belgium)
- 🇫🇷 CNC (France)
- 🇺🇸 MPAA (United States)
See the full overview of supported systems. Releasing in several markets? Run the same content through a review per target market — each one judged on its own criteria.
What the reviewer gets¶
- The estimated rating tier for the targeted system (e.g. FSK 12, BBFC 15, Kijkwijzer 9)
- A timeline of moments of interest — one click jumps the player to the exact scene
- Per moment: the criterion it touches and an excerpt, so verification takes seconds
- A place to record the human decision — confirm, adjust, or escalate
Why it matters¶
- Trailers must fit the rating of the feature they play with — an 18-rated trailer can't precede a family film.
- Cinema and TV advertising is screened to audiences that include children; publishers are expected to keep content age-appropriate.
- Volume — a rating decision per spot, per market, at ingest speed, with the human judgment recorded and auditable.
Note
The Age Report is a pre-check, not a certificate. Official classification remains with the national bodies — DCProof tells you what to expect before you submit, and catches surprises before they become reschedules.
