RTC — Mexico¶
Mexico's content classification is issued by the RTC (Dirección General de Radio, Televisión y Cinematografía), a government agency under SEGOB.
Rating tiers¶
| Tier | Meaning |
|---|---|
| AA | Understandable for children under 7 |
| A | All audiences |
| B | Adolescents 12 and over |
| B15 | 15 and over |
| C | Adults 18 and over |
| D | Adult / extreme content |
Only C and D legally restrict admission; AA through B15 are informative parental guidance.
Ratings gate broadcast time¶
A distinctive feature of the Mexican system: tiers also determine when content may air on TV and radio — higher-rated content is confined to later broadcast windows. For advertisers this makes the rating a scheduling constraint, not just a label.

The DCProof Age Report estimates the RTC tier of your ad or trailer, with timecoded findings per criterion.
