Filmrating — Switzerland

Switzerland's Filmrating commission has, since 2012, issued a dual rating for each work, recognised by all cantons:

  • the Zutrittsalter — the binding minimum admission age, and
  • the Altersempfehlung — an advisory recommended age, which may be higher.

Rating tiers

0, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18

What this means for ads and trailers

Switzerland adds a second dimension to the multi-market puzzle: content acceptable at the binding admission age may still carry a higher recommendation — and Swiss screens serve three language regions, so the language of voice-over and subtitles has to match the market as well as the rating.

Tip

The DCProof Age Report estimates the Swiss tier of your ad or trailer, with timecoded findings per criterion — and the QC Report verifies the spoken and subtitle language.
